Everton FC coach David Moyes has thrown up a lot of dust with a statement that seems to indicate that his Nigerian striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, is lying about his declared age.

Why bring this up lol, surely this is breaking the trust between the player and the manager? Basically Moyes is saying he's not 25yrs!!!

Not if the player doesn't know how old he is

Well he should be allowed to play if he's lying about his age. Its Fraud/Deception.

Falsified birth certificates are not uncommon in Africa countries. Some times it the only way for a player to play abroad

ah i always lie about my age when i am out i am 19 unless i am in an over 21s bar then i am 21 and if its over 23s i am 23 so I have no problem with the Yak doing the same

I think if Moyes had any real doubt about Yakubus age he wouldn't be joking in the media about them.
As far as I know there is a simple test you can do on the bone to determine someones age, and the Yak had it when he joined Pompey.

over this?

"What people don't appreciate is that he’s only 25, albeit a Nigerian 25, and so if that is his age he’s still got a good few years ahead of him," Moyes told reporters after the match

Racism is such a thrown out of proportion word......and used too freely today.....Don't even get me started on this one.

Moyes, racist? Don't make me laugh. For a start if he was don't you think the whole team would be British!

big ron is apparently racist after one comment despite doing more for black players in this country than any other person, and keith addy recently had to step down because of an allegation made against him after 30 years as a director. sad state of affairs really
