Ramos will be given £40million for Spurs raid
By SIMON CASS -

Juande Ramos will be handed a £40million summer transfer kitty to turn Tottenham's cup heroes into Barclays Premier League title challengers.

Tottenham's board are ready to back their manager with hard cash after Ramos steered his side to a deserved Carling Cup Final win over Chelsea.

The spurs squad at the moment is pretty good, so with 40 million he could bring in a fe more quality players. spurs could have a good season next season under Ramos

but title challengers thats getting abit to extreme

wasn't Jol offered the same amount, but never got it?

Even if Ramos gets half of that, I'm sure he will find the right players to make a better squad. First he has to trim those that are not performing.

the following question could be it own thread but it is a long the same theme, so here it goes.

Who would you buy with £40million??

A sample of some of the names already floating around. Daniel Alves, Diego Milito, Stewart Downing, Johann Elmander, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Hatem Ben Arfa, Karim Benzema, Freddi Kanoute and Deco.

Only realistic player is Pedersen, even him coming is a long shot.

I think we should offer silly money for Quaresma, but that's just me.

Yeah, title challengers is out of the question I think. Top four contenders, possibly. Still think we'll have to wait 3 to 4 seasons before we can think about league titles. Let's hope Ramos will stay at the club because you never know in football. It could all go pear-shaped like it started to under Martin Jol.

Crouch could be a target!
Do you think Kanoute would be welcome??

why do they need any more strikers, they must have the best strikeforce in the league as it is .

I dont think Bent will survive & Bebatovs future is far from certain so if they have a transfer kitty of that size I will be surprised if they don't go for a Striker!
I agree they have good striking options ( Keane is so underated) but to go forward they cannot stand still!

I am fairly confident Berba will stay, atleast for one more season. Bent, I really do not know, but one thing is for sure, we need another striker. Though I think players like Pekhart might be able to make the step up next year.

What we need to do, in my opinion:

Bring in a left-sided player, push Malbranque into the middle and kick Zokora out.

Buy a young, decent Centre Back to give Dawson that kick up the arse he's been begging for all season.

I agree with every word you say. I've heard that Ramos is looking to get at least 3 defenders, a goal-keeper and a forward.

I heard Kameni would be the keeper they brought in, also Jarque would probably be the defender they bring in.

I really don't like Zokora, he has cost us so many goals, but they have gone un noticed. I also think he is our only real problem. Change him and we could be fine :nodyes:
