Kevin Keegan says he needs five new players to transform Newcast le in the summer - as James Milner warned the club is not too good to go down.
Keegan says owner Mike Ashley has promised that cash will be available to invest in a demoralised squad who have plunged to the fringes of a relegation battle.
The Toon boss needs a home win against Blackburn this weekend to stop a terrible run which has seen the club claim just 10 points in 18 games, with just two wins.
Keegan said: "I've got to go and get the three, four or five players that are hopefully going to turn this place around.

Thats what he needs the transfer window to really stamp his mark back on the team. the toon definitely need a total reshuffle of their squad

They've got some decent players at Newcastle but obviously need an injection of new talent. I didn't expect Keegan to work miracles over night but I am surprised that they've slumped do dramatically.

I would like you to tell me who they are because it's been very hard to spot them recently.

well it is sams team still and none of the players there are any of keegans signings
the toon fans who are calling for his head already are as equally to blame as the owners who sack the manager every few months for newcastles poor form
We shouldn't have got rid of Big Sam so soon, but to get rid of Kevin Keegan would be suicide. I don't think he's the ideal person for the job, but still.

Well I think he's well respected in football and he's certainly got the passion for the game. I don't think there's a better manager around at the moment for the Newcastle job. But like he says, maybe some new talent will make the difference.
It's all very well having the cash ready to bring them in, but its going to be hard for Keegan to attract big players to a failing club. His best hope is to find new talent that can develop over the next couple of years.
Sounds like great news and a positive step and all, but in terms of it bringing success, forgive me if I don't hold my breath!!:lac:
