We have, or shold I say we are going to be selling Luke Your later today to Villa, dunno how much money we will get from him, but this to me has come out of the blue. I suspect we have sold him to buy a decent keeper. We need one as the keepers we have at the minute are not premiership quality.
What do you think?
You would like to think so wouldnt you. Knowing Boro we will spend it on a sub standard striker who we dont need.
Southgate said that he's not gonna buy any goal keepers cause he wants to produce youth keepers at Middlesbrough. I think Turner is a good keeper, and Southgate is a great manager, so I think he can produce great keepers, and perhaps the sulotion to England's keeper problems...

Not buying a keeper going to put Turnbull or Jones in goal and they're not the best keepers
Selling one of our best defenders because its "a good offer which he can't turn down" HES ONE OF OUR BEST DEFENDERS OF COURSE HE CAN TURN IT DOWN! I'm just waiting to see who he brings in to replace him
and I was looking forward to this season as well
I think you can look forward to an average season but if can get through this one, I can see you doing well with some of the youngsters you've got. When I say if you can get through this one, it's on the cards that you could get dragged into a relegation battle at some point because GS isn't buying and seems content on trying his youngsters. Like you say, if you can replace Young and perhaps bring in a decent keeper then you should be ok and if the youngsters prove the boss right, next season will be a better one for you.I do like him...well I did. I hope he proves me wrong and he brings in a quality right back, and Turnbull proves me wrong and becomes a great keeper (like Joe Hart cause I bet nobody thought he'd be good)
