    Sibierski Earns New Deal

Newcastle United will hand Antoine Sibierski another 12-month contract when his current deal expires at the end of the season.

That's the good news for the French midfielder-cum-striker as he prepares to fly to London tomorrow for Sunday's game with Spurs at White Hart Lane.

And while United supporters are waiting anxiously to find out which players may be coming through the door in the transfer window, it is a move which will be welcomed by the Toon Army.

United boss Glenn Roeder has been delighted with the player signed from Manchester City on the last day of the close season transfer deadline.

Roeder told me today: "In my opinion Antoine has turned out to be one of the best free transfers of the season.

"I will be speaking to the chairman about giving him another season, and we know we also have to discuss the contracts of Titus Bramble, Nobby Solano and Craig Moore.

"But none of this will happen until after this month's transfer deadline because we are putting so much of our efforts and energy in trying to bring some new players into the club.

"Everyone knows we could do with some new players. But they have to be the right players."

Really good news for Sibs. He's definitely the kind of player we want at Newcastle. He may not be amongst the best in the league for quality but I think he is for effort, for endeavour and for desire. He gives his all and that's all we can ask for.

I bloody hope we don't give Titus another contract.

Considering all Newcastles striker problems he's done really well and not tired etc. He hasn;t quite done the business in the league but his presence and goals in the UEFA has been vital for them. It will be good news for the Bar codes!

(Westboy - All I can assume is because of the kit? Black 'n' White)

3 goals in 5 in Europe is pretty good. 2 in 8 in the Prem. Settled in well. I think freddy will have to get his wallet out though this Transfer Window.

yeah lol, it's what some teams call them, mainly their rivals. It's to do with their kit, black and white stripes, looks like a barcode label ;)
