I disagree if berbatov plays I believe he'll have another blinder or just simply be lazy I believe we will win 2 or 3-0 though

atleast he volunteered to take one. some players clearly backed out naming no names but im sure we all know whos taken the first pen in our last 3 shoot outs. he had the balls to take one and he missed. he then comes out and says he let the team down. fair play to him i say. i think pogue mahone in the mains summed it up with this. maybe its because he isnt lazy and its just the media who spout that shite because in england "we do love a trier"! as long as you try hard its fine if you have no effect on the game. thats the attitude we have in this country. to suggest the guy is lazy because he doesnt sprint around the pitch is a joke. the fact is the guy has a very laid back style. that doesnt mean he isnt trying it just means he makes everything look easy and like its in slow motion. the fact is i bet everytime the ball fires towards him and he brings it down perfetly in one touch then holds off a defender waits for supports and then picks out one of our players he is really trying hard and concentrating on doing what he does best. to some people this looks lazy to others if looks immense and makes you think how does he do that so well and apparently so easy! its a joke really. some people should watch some la liga action. maybe some barca or valencia. check out a couple of very well known strikers with a very high reputation on here and worldwide that play for those teams. eto and villa. both excellant players. different type of player to berbatov but similat in the way they dont chase the ball down constantly but concentrate more on finding space and making runs into space. the difference with those 2 is that they both have a lot of pace so when they run they look like they are really putting the effort in. the shame for berbatov is he doesnt have that pace so he never looks the same. add to the fact that villa and eto bang in the goals it mean they could be "lazy" all day and be forgiven.

Great posts and well said. Berbatov is a fantastic player and I think he's done alright considering no pre-season and thrown in at the deep end straight away. I dont know what people expect Berbatov to do, do you expect a player who holds up the ball so well and brings other players into play with skill to run around the field like a Tevez tackling; leaving our attack absolutely non-existent? He's a completely different player to Tevez and plays a different role to him. His role is to stay up the field and keep possesion which he does very well. Your all saying "he doesnt give a shit" - I've seen Berbatov do alot of media stuff in his career and he seems a very nice guy with a personality that does care and is very passionate about his work. Unless you can read minds, you cant say he doesnt care. I think it's ridicolous coming on here and reading comments like "I hope the fans hound him out of Manchester".
