Birmingham chairman David Gold admits he is extremely happy to have completed the signing of Scott Dann from Coventry.
Blues agreed an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £4million, for the highly-rated 22-year-old defender on Friday having fought off competition from a number of clubs.
Dann becomes Birmingham's third new permanent signing since the club regained their Premier League status, joining new boys Christian Benitez and Stephen Carr at St Andrews.
Gold believes Blues have signed a 'must-have' player and hopes the capture of Dann could go some way to securing Birmingham's top-flight status next season.
