    Another Mediocre Season For Liverpool?

They are very poor still aren't they!!! 1-1 With Arsenal, then a 3-0 defeat from Man City. I know Man City have what looks like a great football club now, but they looked dire yesterday and I can't see Joe Cole making the team any better when he returns!!

So your saying 1-1 with Arsenal was a bad result for liverpool? to go down to 10 men and be leading up untill the 90th minute and to give away an unfortunate goal? we showed quality in that match and yesterday against City we were extremely poor, you can't judge a team on two performances - we could be near the top in the next few weeks or struggling who knows?

Well yesterdays is the only one I watched fully and Gerrard was just shooting everywhere except on target!! Your passes were very poor, often losing out to City players. But your right, its too early, BUT Liverpool are under the eye of everyone due to last season!

If you had watched the Arsenal game you would have seen us put in a good performance to go down to 10men and be leading after half time and then for Reina to score an OG in the 90th, before the match anyone will take a draw with Arsenal so overall i was happy - but yesterday they were all over the place and its lead me to wanting Kuyt to go, a 10m offer on the table for a 30 year old? take it hes been great and hes one of my favourite players but Maxi is more adapted to that position and will give the team a greater dimension

Switch to 4-2-3-1 Roy and get rid of the 4-4-2 it doesnt work and for Ngog to start infront of Babel? Crazy with the team we currently have

    Reina
    Johnson Carra Skrtel Agger
    Poulsen Gerrard
    Maxi Cole Jovanic
    Torres

Torres is used to playing up on his own and with the 20m+ we get off masch we can invest into the LB Position and improve the squad...

Yesterday was strange. I was intrigued to see Roy play 4-4-2 and was quite excited by N'Gog playing upfront with Torres for the first time but he was pretty ineffectual even if he didn't get a lot of service. I think most people seem to be of the agreement that Hodgson's playing of Kuyt on the right in a 4-4-2 was always going to pretty silly because you need out and out wide players for that and he just isn't that sort.

Torres obviously is still lacking a bit of pace, confidence and sharpness there were 2 occasions I can think of in the past 2 games where he has had the ball just over the half way line gone for a run and then ended up holding the ball up and passing backwards. Not once has he ever done that before.

Even the most experience of managers aged in their 60s make mistakes and Hodgson is no exception, he most certainly made one yesterday and no doubt he'll have learnt from it.

How can you judge us on 2 games FFS???????Don't forget Man city are a good team NOW,I didn't watch the game last night as i was out but my hubby said we played sh1t,I hope we don't play like we did last season it breaks my heart as a Liverpool fan to see our team struggle,I just hope last night was a blip and the players can forget about the game and move on

It's not just two games though, you was poor in the previous season - so it'd be 40 games now.

Aye, thats why I brought up this subject, if they had been brilliant last season then I wouldn't have said anything! But the fact that they were totally outclassed it sounds like the Liverpool of last season.

The signs arent looking good, im not going to say liverpool are alreayd out of the running for top 4 but there is work to do and they seriously need to invest ina LB no harm to Agger because i know he is a centre half but he was torn to pieces last night. Also i think Roy made a mistake playing with two in the middle city were playing around gerrard for almost all of the game. Ngog was nowhere to be seen and torres aint fit yet i think in a few games once he has got his edge back the goals will come.

Liverpool played well against Arsenal but then i would expect nothing less at Anfield for me the key to Liverpools season is ging to be how they handle themselves away from home, the days of Liverpool expecting to get a result of some kind from every game is gone if you ask me.

If you look around the teams that should be around the top of the table other than man city none have really added considerably to their squad i think this could definately help liverpool who really cant play as badly as they did last term. Roy just needs to pray that he is given the 20 or so mill theymay get for mach to strenghthen because Roy is a good manager when it comes to buying in and he is going to need to buy well because it may be the only money he sees for a while.

They aren't doing that badly. They played well with ten men against Arsenal and were unlucky to draw. Against Man City they were outclassed but very few teams will get anything from Eastlands this season (If Any). West Brom next for Liverpool, they should pick up their first win in that one.

I think Liverpool will improve some, but it's not going to happen in the next few games. They should be able to beat West Brom. Then they play Birmingham and Man U the next two games which I think will be difficult. After that, the games aren't too bad. I do think if things stay the way they do at the club. They'll likely be in the same spot they were last season. They were poor away from home and need to perform better. Call me crazy, but I think Roy Hodgson may be a one and done manager.

Even if they had lost 5-0 both games, they'd still play like demons and beat us, that's all I'm bothered about Liverpool this season - the 6 points at stake in our games.

Not the best start for the scousers and I really can't see then regaining the 4th CL spot this season. Spurs and City seem alot stronger than Pool who have barely strengthened from last seasons abysmal campaign.
