    100m Final

did anyone see it, Usain Bolt blew the field away winning in a new world record of 9.69, and with 10m to go he held his arms out and beated his chest, that's how far ahead he was, there's a good video on the BBC website for british viewers, always a good event to watch.

I couldn't believe how he slowed down towards the end to celebrate! If he kept up the pace, he could have absolutely smashed that world record more than he did!

    I know! I didn't get that either.

He didn't look as hot in the heats of the 200 today though. Unless he's just teasing us.

Well I don't think he realised he'd gotten anywhere near the world record and so felt no need to keep going at a high pace once he'd got far enough to win really.

200m is what he has trained for. He will be taking it easy in the heats - doing just enough to get through so that he can preserve his energy and run like fcuk during the final!

Well we'll see. There were a couple of others that really looked impressive today. If he does win it, I'm not sure he'll have it so easy. It'll be interesting to see if he can take Johnson's 200 world record.

Well obviously the expectations on his shoulders will be much higher now he's broken the 100m world record and so if he does finish second or third, some people may be disappointed but it's still a very good finish. Good luck to him, he has a lot of talent!

Yes he has. I'll be glued! I'd much rather see Jamaica take the gold than the USA, so fingers crossed.
