This might not be a bad thing at least its happening now for a friendly rather than for a qualifying match. It also means that you have to use the kids and its could be a matter of fight or flight, see what they can do at the very least with the young squad capello has picked there wont be a lackof enthusiasm which was seemingly one of the major problems with the world cup squad. I say give the kids a chance and see what they have to offer that the whole point of playing international friendlies anyway.

Capello is getting blamed for everything. It's interesting that Muffer Rooney's **** performances in the World Cup were explained away by the over-paid pundits (fans as well) because the poor sausage was playing in an "alien position" - with another striker - the outdated 4-4-2. Yet previously the same people were claiming he always did well playing with Heskey (apparently that's the main reason Heskey got a game in the first place). He also partnered Crouch (the most successful partnership) plus others. After his poor performance yesterday the same pundits were explaining it away claiming he was the sole striker - and this was bad. I do wish they'd make their friggin' minds up!

For a long time now I've been saying Lampard should be dropped - with Gerrard playing in the centre (not ostensibly on the flank). It worked a treat, particularly once Rooney went off.

The game was much better once Rooney was off, he should be dropped for the next few games or until he's back on form. Overall it was a good game of football yesterday, the players were up for it and it was the first England game i've watched (not including the world cup) that I watched the full game, especially with it being a friendly. Hopefully we can continue to play the way we did, oh and the goal was never in.

Also why didn't Capelo enjoy the two goals? When they were scored he just sat there, looking bored? He's a strange man!

Everyone is saying Rooney was considering international retirement and he is only 24? Gerrard came out and admitted he himself was close to it...

As for Capello not enjoying the goals i think he didnt want to get up as he would be boo'd he seemed nervous the whole game, only time i seen him smile was when Gerrard came out and went over to shake his hand
