Wow never thought he'd go for that and especially not to Russia. Russian clubs certainly are splashing the cash nowadays.

He's on big wages and that's probably the main reason. He made it clear he prefered a move to England but I don't know if any suitable offers came in. 9.5 million is good business for us, he baring kicked a ball for us last season.

I don't really see how this could be considered a step up for him. The Russian league may be slightly more competitive but the biggest clubs there are hardly much better than Celtic or Rangers. I'm sure your manager would preferred to have kept him?

I think it's fair to say the Russian league is a hgher standard than the SPL. Zenit outclassed Rangers before the Manchester riot a few years back. Lennon would have preferred to keep him but McGeady had long since decided to go.

The good thing for me, is i hate the wee traitor and am glad he's away. The bad, is it's another blow to scottish football, losing one of it's brightest talent's.
