Surely this will never work? Surely they would have to work their way up from the non league? they can't just suddenly appear in the Championship.

All I can say is this. Five words that you will never hear in the same sentence are these, Rafa Benitez and good idea.

Actually I should have said ALL foreign managers because a lot of them have ruined OUR GAME, and the way we used to play in my opinion.

Your going a bit off topic here!!

They might have ruined the game in your opinion, I personally don't think so. But his Idea of fielding reserves in the lower leagues is pathetic!! Does he not know people support teams outside of the premiership!!!

He has no idea and understanding of the history of the game here, and why should he I suppose? The fact is it's a ludicrious idea, and shouldn't be given even a minutes thought.

Its showing a lack of respect to teams in the championship and below. Mourinho said the same as well when he was at Chelsea, it just annoys me. It's not our fault they buy so many players or there players cant get a game, basically there saying lets f*ck a team off so i can have a reserve team in the league its plain ignorance

As bb said Rafa came up with this idea 2 seasons ago.
The full article said he believed teams from the championship should be promoted & the Premier league extended so as nobody would suffer as he has great respect for all teams in the lower divisions. He also said some teams in the Championship had great tradition & Wolves were one of the teams he singled out, mentioning their early European exploits.

So the moral of the story is: Never judge a book by it's cover- read the full article & not just the headlines!!!!!!!

Im not just on about Rafa im sure Wenger said it at some point as well dont matter when they aid it to me was still a bit disrespectful.

I never knew what Rafa had said ( about championship clubs should be promoted ect). So fair play he didn't disrespect us but Wenger and Mourinho did

i beg to differ, they've moved our nations league forward, and help gain the reputation of the world's best league.

it's a good idea imo, its not only provides better competition for the lower league producing some very quality players, but it also provides more team meaning more competition. But i dont agree with being straight in to the championship, start in the non league and work upwards would be good.

Only just noticed this thread lol.

I think it's a fcuking shocking idea :| before long, the B side Championship Arsenal team will have a B side Arsenal League one team who'll have a B side Arsenal League Two team!

Besides, how would that work out if a team got relegated from the Prem to the Champ... would the A team then verse their B team?? And realistically, who is going to support a B team in the league below? You'd just bloody support the A team!

Pathetic, selfish and idiotic idea.

And I actually think that even starting off in non-leagues is a bad idea, because lets face it, a Prem B team is going to lash any non-league team and so they're just preventing teams who have worked hard all season from getting promoted.
