Benfica Target Middlesbrough's Afonso Alves
Afonso Alves has been at the Riverside Stadium since making a £12.8 million move from Heerenveen in January 2007, but has struggled to match the consistent goalscoring form of his time in Holland in the demanding surroundings of the Premier League.
he has been identified by Benfica coach, Quique Flores, as an ideal piece to strengthen the Eagles' frontline. The player's agent, Roberto Tibúrcio, is said to have been in Lisbon in the last days, having met with Benfica's representatives. It is further reported that Middlesbrough who are currently enduring a difficult financial situation are ready to cash in on Alves to balance their books. Boro are allegedly willing to listen to offers for the frontman worth over €10.5 million, a price-tag that does not please the Portuguese club whats your thoughts boro fans i bet your only glad to see the back of him

if this is true id like to maybe just see him loaned out and see if he can rekindel his previous form that he had at heerneveen and then maybe get at least some of the money back we spent on him lol
