football, but american football at the college level is epic too. hate the NFL.

i like college ball because the atmosphere and such is very similar to football. hundreds of teams all competing to be the best, very tribal much like footy.

doesnt hurt to support the mighty Oregon Ducks either, in the last 20 years we'e become one of the elite teams in the country

Football for me. It's just that I've hardly seen a full match of american football in all my life, so I might be a bit biased with my decision.

Btw, do americans enjoy american football more than baseball? I always thought baseball to them is like football to europeans...

I think that this is a matter of what you like to see, as sports you cant compare the two in any way shape or form. i agree with itown iv seen uni american football and NFL and the dfference is staggering, 1 the crowds more like a footy crowd and 2 the players seem to want to play more than the pro's.

Football is the bestas far as im concerned but u cant compare them as sports just on who like what better.

This is going to be a guaranteed "football" result. I've not seen an american football game properly and don't know the rules so I have to put football. I guess if I played it and grew up watching it, my answer would be different. But as it stands i'm saying football as I've played and grew up with this.

if you want a taste of the atmosphere, this is what i experience every home game down at Autzen

its like this the entire game, we're considered some of the wildest, most rabid fans in the country

i was at the loudest game ever recorded at Autzen, 127 decibels. to put it in perspective, thats louder than a jet taking off. i sit in the 5th row, so all the noise comes down on top of me, and i was holding a water bottle and the water inside was vibrating it was so loud.

Football of course. American football hasn't got the world wide participation of football. Football is the beautiful game.

Sounds like a bunch of drunken bums. I thought that was just us Scottish drunks that did that. Only we can't get alcohol in our stadiums.

What do you mean? Alcohol is illegal in the USA. Have you not heard of the Prohibition?

Its impossible for the atmosphere to be like that all the time at every game you play!! What if your losing? Surely they don't still cheer. I guess they might though, stupid yanks haha

we do man, we seriously do. we've sold out every game since 1999, and it literally doesnt stop til the final whistle. Sporting News (big sports rag here in the states) name Autzen "the most intimidating stadium in college football"

Lee Corso (legendary college football pundit on ESPN) said "Per person Autzen Stadium is the loudest stadium that I have ever been in my entire life!"

Jahvid Best, a starting running back for the California Golden Bears said of his game in 2007 at Autzen Stadium, "The biggest thing I remember about that game is the crowd. The crowd noise is crazy up there. Honestly, any other away game I don't really even hear the crowd. Oregon was the only place where it really got on my nerves."

As a head coach for the California Golden Bears, Jeff Tedford said, "Their fans are so educated that they're really prepared as far as when to make noise and when not to make noise. You can quiet some crowds down if you score early and things like that. Not in Autzen. They're going to keep roaring the whole game, that's just the way they are."

we're legendary, and we know it. stupid yanks we made be, but we're loud as f*ck

for christs sake, are you going to follow me around from thread to thread now commenting on everything i post because we had a bit of a spat? grow up man.

lets bury the hatchet alright? i wont take the piss out of scots if you dont take the piss out of americans ok?

and of course we sound like drunken bums, 99 percent of the fans are smashed by kickoff (myself included). thats how most sporting events are afterall....

I like American football, but to be honest, I can only watch a recorded game, so I can fast forward the constant stopping. It is a very stacatto sport.
