    Villa Name New Boss.

Aston Villa has appointed Gerard Houllier as manager, bringing the Frenchman back to England’s Premier League after a six-year absence.

Villa announced on its website on Wednesday that Houllier has agreed to replace Martin O’Neill, who quit last month.

Absolutely nothing to fear i reckon.

I guess i'm going to disagree. Houllier didn't do a bad job at Liverpool. You're so negative. But, I think you're being that way on purpose.

Houllier did a job at Liverpool. They won the treble in 2001. Perhaps the Birmingham fan is jealous because Houllier's Liverpool beat Birmingham in the League Cup final of the same year on penalties (Birmingham also lost to Preston on penaties in the Play-Off Semi in that year with Preston getting the equalizing goal in the last minute of normal time).

As much as I like him, I have my reservations about his aptitude to manage Villa.

"I had, of course, other proposals but this one seemed to be the most interesting in terms of working conditions and environment.

"Aston Villa is not a club on the same level as Liverpool, let's be objective and honest.

Lyon. Won league titles with them and was very unlucky not to get to the Champions League Semi-Final in 2006 when Inzaghi handled the ball into the net in the last 5 minutes against AC Milan.

well hes telling the truth isnt he?

if thats the way he USED to see us then fair enough, alot of football fans, managers, and players probably have as well. i wonder if hes preparing us for a rough season by calling it our rightful place to lose positions in the table, or if there was more to that quote sky didnt report and he wants to take us above and beyond the club he sees us as.
