I've been following this story for a couple of days now & i hope the Pastor goes through with his Koran book burning event. I don't care much for muslims so anything that pi$$es them & annoys them is a good thing in my book.

The plan by the Dove World Outreach Center, a small evangelical church in the US state of Florida, to burn Korans on 11 September has drawn worldwide condemnation.
Its pastor, the Reverend Terry Jones, says that as an American Christian he has a right to burn Islam's holy book because it is "full of lies".
Despite acknowledging that he has "no experience... whatsoever" of the Koran, he argues that it is "evil" because it espouses something other than Biblical truth and incites radical, violent behaviour among Muslims.
The 58-year-old recently wrote a book entitled Islam is of the Devil.
Muslims consider the Koran the sacred word of God and consider any intentional damage or show of disrespect towards it as deeply offensive .
There are fears that the planned burning will spark international protests by Muslims on a scale similar to those seen after the publication of satirical cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a Danish newspaper in 2006.
Already, protesters in Afghanistan have burned an effigy of Mr Jones to chants of "death to America".
this could open up a whole can of worms
what do you think???

Oh god we've talking about this for hours on the LFC forum I go on. That thread has about 400 posts or something.
I think the general conclusion is that it's the media's fault for introducing the world to a small backwards never heard of church in Florida in the first place.
I was asked to leave Waterstones last week for moving the Qur'an to the horror section

They won't do s*it though, just a publicity stunt.

Religion is a ****ing joke, it causes problems. God does not exist, some bloke made a book and they followed it. You have no proof god exists, but we have proof of life before man!! With fossils, god didn't create the world in 7 days, I was having this discussion with three lads in my mess who are proper religious at the end of it I just told them to stop talking **** and to stop talking about god in my mess!! Proper does my head, in.

I don't play god on here at all, I let things go there own way without me intervening. You saying I have no proof in saying god doesn't exist, but in my honest opinion, he doesn't exists, give me proof of him existing on this planet
because I can't see him!!
But to be fair this argument is nothing to do with him existing or not existing. Its about the Koran and about the US bloke burning copies of it.

Read the post properly. I said you don't have proof that god doesn't exist. Which you don't. Just because you can't see him doesn't categorically mean God doesn't exist. Most religious people (I'm not incidentally) have faith, meaning they don't have to show you squat.
Back to topic. The church burning ceremony is a nonsense that helps nobody. It's also insensitive in the extreme given the 9/11 anniversary. Muslims died in it too.

I did read it properly.
I do have proof he doesn't exist, I or anyone else has never EVER seen him/her
Honestly I do not get religion ANSWER ME THIS! PLEASE!!
If you were left by your parents as soon as you were born, on a desert island, to fond for yourself for say 20 years. Would you still believe in god? I would doubt it very much!! Catholic families brainwash their children! As do all other religions!!
