The Carling Nations Cup kicks off next month

The inaugural Carling Nations Cup will kick off when the Republic of Ireland host Wales on 8 February, with Scotland facing Northern Ireland the next day.
The new tournament is on a league basis, with all six matches being staged in Dublin's new Aviva Stadium.
Northern Ireland's clash with the Republic is on 23 May, with Wales facing Scotland the following day.
Wales face Northern Ireland on 26 May, with the tournament ending with the Republic against Scotland on the 27th.
Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni said the Nations Cup is "a tournament we would very much like to win, particularly playing at home in Dublin" and would not detract from their bid to qualify for the 2012 European Championship finals.
The Carling Nations Cup is to be held in one country on a rotational tournament-by-tournament basis.

I really hope that when the ROI and Northern Ireland play each other is a good contest and not marred by ****ing idiots on both sides dragging the game into the gutter. Id agree that the ROI has a very good shout at winning it a good side and obviously playing at home always helps.

I can't be bothered with this just now. Couldn't it just all be played in the summer?

Been finding myself up late this week doing some PC work and watching this on the re-runs. Been a good watch, at first i thought it was the WC qualifying games when watching ROI v Wales but soon realised what it was, it was a cracking game and was good to see the Villa boys in Collins v Dunne & Clark get at each other. The Scotland game against NI was a decent game to, Scotland played some nice stuff..

I want Scotland to win this and i think they have a good chance the only thing standing in there way is R.O.I. there the only team that pose a threat to scotland and when the two teams meet its gunna be a great game.
