Thought id start a thread seeing as there isnt one, these are the only International's that interest me to be fair, its refreshing to see players actually giving a damn and playing with passion. Anyway anybody been watching it so far?, i didnt see the games yesterday as i was out on the lash but will be watching the games today.

CZECH REP V UKRAINE

The Czechs have always been a side ive admired over the years at all levels, they have had some exciting players come through and play some nice stuff. They have a very promising young talent called Tomas Pekhart who played at Spurs in the YTS, he didnt really have much of a crack in England but i feel he will back at some point, watch out for him if you watch the game.

SPAIN V ENGLAND

The Spanish U-21 side have alot of talent and the main side will only benefit from it. Players like Mata, Capel. Parejo, Lopez & Bojan will all have a say during this competition there is no doubt about that. England have some hungry players ans im looking forward to seeing more of Jones at the back seeing how he deals with the attacking pressence of Spain, i hope Albrighton gets the nod on the wing as he can do alot of damage going forward, although im sure Sinclair will play over him. Will be good to see The Fonz upfront next to Sturridge.

The really depressing thing is that if you put the two teams in any coloured shirt you like, you would instantly tell which team was which by the way they play the game.

thing is its true, in Spain, Brazil etc... they learn to play on smaller pitches with fewer players at a young age and actually learn technical ability and football fundamentals...

in Britain, as soon as theyre big enough they chuck kids on a full sized pitch and say "ok go do it" what ends up happening a lot of times is one team will batter the other until the defending team can clear it past the halfway line (theyre kids, so almost never) and nobody learns a damn thing except kick and rush (i myself have experienced this).

ah i see what you mean. yeah all the talking head pundits bang on about grass roots football in England, but you're right its all talk. and people will be prepared to pay for the dross theyre served up so long as nobody actually has to lift a finger and they still maintain the right to bitch and moan about it at every opportunity.

After the World Cup and England's failure we were promised a "root and branch inquiry" into the state of the game here. Surprisingly enough we're still waiting for this to start.
