    Mcgregor Linked With Villa Again

Seems to be happening very often now, know McLeish is in charge i think something might happen, id welcome him to Villa Park as i think he is a decent keeper and thats what we need, plus McLeish knows what he is getting with him.

Could get him pretty cheap to i would imagine, id love Guzan to go on and be a giant in goal but i just cant see it. I raved about Guzan for ages when we first signed him and thought he was excellent when needed in the first few games, but the spell of games he played in the Europa League were truely shocking, the game away to Hamburg said it all.

one game never "says it all", even world class players have bad games.

Guzan is still young, but what he needs is first team football, which he wont get here because at this point i dont think he's ready. he's a big guy and needs to learn to command his area, but we dont have time to let him learn. i cant see him happy staying as backup, so i think we could well be looking for 2 new keepers.

Guzan is a top class shot stopper, and as soon as Howard retires he'll be the USA's #1, if he learns to be more commanding he'll be excellent. the guy saved what was it, 4 penalties against Sunderland? and he made other important penalty saves as well... i remember not too long ago many Villans were remarking on how he seemed to be able to read the penalty takers mind because his reflexes are so quick... you dont do that if you dont have quality.

Sorry mate i know he is a Yank and your defend him because of that, just dont see it, it wasnt just that game against Hamburg. He wasnt that impressive on loan at Hull, their fans wernt that pleased.

ive seen enough of him for our national team to know that there is a player there, and a good one who just needs experience and to work on his consistency. think about it, he's only 26, thats very young for a keeper, he could well play for another 10-15 seasons if he's lucky.

American or not, i'll lambast the guy if i dont think he's good enough, and i dont think he's good enough to be Aston Villa's #1 at this time. all im saying is that he could very well be at some point if given first team opportunities (or he could never reach that potential, who knows?), we just dont have the time or ability to give him that, we cant take that risk with Friedel gone.

Anyhow fuck the viler's second choice keeper. Alan McGregor. Gotta love him for this one. The moment the unwashed offended, thought they had won the league. Saves dont come much bigger than this.
