The smaller Clubs can't attract bigger numbers of local fans because they won't spend any dosh to put a decent team on the park.
In the SPL only 4 Clubs would be capable of winning the title ...Celtic , Aberdeen , Hearts and the Orcs .
I pay 600 quid a year for my Season Book at Celtic Park , good value if you ask me , but I have sky and ESPN at home why would I want to travel to an away game now , when I can watch it in the comfort of my Home.

The SPL has to get it's house in Order. I pay 600 quid a season for 19 Home games , European games and Cup games are extra.
I pay for Sky and ESPN so this year I will be watching Celtic's away games primarily at Home.
The Product on the Park has to improve and that lies primarily with the rest of the Teams outwith Celtic and Rangers.
Investment in the playing staff isn't enough , all Clubs must have a Business plan that reduces debt and keeps them out of debt. The SPL needs to increase it's size to at least 16 Teams which would allow a Middle ground in the League to give Clubs breathing space to blood new players ....... hopefully primarily from Scotland. If Holland and Belgium can do it so can we.
Live football is also a factor here , Sky should be investing more in Scottish football , it's an affront to Celtic and Rangers that they give coverage to tiny clubs who haven't got 10,000 supporters between them ....... yet on ITV 4 the other night a 60,000 crowd was seen at the Celtic v Man Utd Old Crocks match. In short there should be 1 ruling body and they should get their marketing departments to earn their money.
