Won't be dropped anytime soon cost way too much to give up on him. Lindergaard must be thinking he has a chance to take the no1 spot from him though. It is a worry because as the season draws on and gets to the crucial stages if De Gea is making mistakes like this we might not get back from it. He doesn't command the box possibly due to language barrier and the fact he is on the small side.

Hopefully he will come good otherwise we will struggle in big games in the Premier League and also in Europe. I remember when we had Howard/Carroll and we got knocked out for a few seasons in a row due to keeper howlers, its really a worry for us this season and was always going to be after loosing such a quality keeper to retirement.

Going to be a big test for the kid in the up and coming weeks because teams will have seen his performances and will exploit it. They will be shooting from distance to test how well he can get down low to shots and they will be battering him in the box on crosses. I think he will improve with time and hopefully it won't bother the team too much.

He'll do well. Even Van Der Sar made mistakes, and people conveniently only remember keeper's mistakes than the 3 or 4 good saves they make. He's only 20 remember.

i dunno, he did some good saves, but also some really clangers, Schmeical was the same when he first started ,

there will be one gd thing to come out of it the defence will work better as a team, and have to work together stronger

I guess once he's played a few more games he'll feel part of the team and his confidence will increase.

It is a big ask for a 20 year old to move to another country and adapt to a tougher league but for £20 million he has to be good enough to do that. Hopefully he can do this as soon as possible otherwise we should give Lindergaard a chance between the sticks.

On the positive side, it would be good to have Lindergaard and David De Gea fighting for the position between the sticks!

Yeah the only thing that is seperating De Gea and Lindergaard is his price tag.

De Gea clearly has talent or Fergie wouldn't of splashed out big money instead of trusting Lindegaard. You can see there's potentially a fantastic keeper there, he just needs experience and faith.

Thats a problem United have create by obviously paying over the odds for him, it wil probably pay off, Fergie is not usually wrong, the only rubbish signing I can think of is Forlan!! He nerly came to boro but you lot got him, thank god haha!!

Yep, and I'd say he's lucky in the respect that the likes of Barthez, Howard, Taibi etc had shite defences in front of them. That'll help him immensely.
