Sources Claiming Rangers Have Signed Bocanegra
Just looking round the football web before i switch off for the night, many sources are claiming that Rangers have signed Carlos Bocanegra from St Etienne. Doesnt look like its going down to well with most of the Rangers support as they reckon this puts an end to Carlos Cuellar returning to Ibrox....

Bocanegra is a good player and puts his body on the line whenever he plays... was good in England for Fulham and in France, so i see no reason why he wouldnt be good in the Scottish Pub League....
this is the first im hearing of it though, but if its true then im happy as Rangers have got themselves a good defender and another Yank!

he captained Fulham if i recall correctly, and he is a very good captain and player for the United States. he's a warrior, and a leader on the pitch who will put his body on the line, the Rangers fans will take to him quickly imo. plus he can play left back too if needed.

Seems the deal is down and im happy good quality, experienced defender and lets be honest weir can only last so long glad to see we are getting some depth.

I think Bocanegra's best days are way behind him. I don't rate him as much of a player anymore.
agree, and he just keeps getting better with age. also he has something a bit (dare i say it) "Merson-esque" about his game...not as much flair wise, but more so you just know at any time he can pop up and do something spectacular.
the best US player now, imo better than Donovan (who is also very very good), and still only 28...it feels like hes older.
