    Food Oddities!!

Reading comments about food "oddities" that people see in Belgium, and Portugal, and having spent a while recently ordering "delicacies" from France (Comte cheese and Fois Gras)... it got me thinking.

are we a nation of people who like to eat only what we know, and have we lost our sense of adventure.

I love going to places and seeing things on the menu, and if I dont have a clue what the feck they are, ordering them to find out.

I love finding out quality goods, meats, cheeses, breads... something a little "different".

am I alone in this, is it unconventional?

and if anyone has any "oddities" they are aware of, share them.

I like to stick by what I know, but only because my body is ridiculously clever at protecting itself from potential harm.

Cheese and egg, go together well tho. Scrambled egg with out cheese in, is just scrambled egg. And omelettes, well the more cheese the better.

When in Asda, forget the posh fruit juices, go to the Polski section, you'll find tetra packs of juices for half the cost, and a few other good delicacies too.

heres one for ya to try...balut. they take a fertilized duck egg and wait 18 days til the embryo is partly formed but everything is still soft and edible, then you take them and boil them and dig in. massively popular in southeast asia, apparently tastes just like a hard boiled egg (so why wouldnt you just eat a hard boiled egg?)

Boiled eggs, are a blokey thing. They have to be runny, so we can dip our soldiers in. Any other kind of boiled egg, is feckin wrong and feminine.

i love hard and soft boiled eggs. i usually dont fuck with boiling them though and just fry them up over easy and eat them on toast. i agree, nothing better than a nice runny yolk on a thick piece of sourdough toast.
