Notts County striker Lee Hughes has been arrested on sexual assault charges. The 35-year-old was taken into custody following the alleged incident involving a woman the night before his team's FA Cup fixture against Sutton United. He was later released on bail.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman: "Police were called at approximately 11.10pm on Saturday December 3 to a hotel in Purley Way, Croydon, following an allegation of sexual assault. "A man, aged 35, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and taken into custody at a south London police station. "He was subsequently bailed to a date in late January pending further investigation by officers from Croydon borough."
I guess if he is charged for this then he will no doubt be back off down the road, meaning his footballing career will surely be all but ended this time?, at 35 that retirement age really. I dunno what other peoples opinions are on what happened to him last time when jailed for leaving a guy for dead, but i found it disgusting how he was allowed to continue playing after he was released, i know life goes on and he did his time, but it was wrong IMO..

Just read that and found it disgusting!!! Didn't realise he was let out half way through his 6 year sentence for causing death by dangerous driving! Yeah, if he is charged they should throw away they key!

He was charged the other day wasnt he not?, no wonder why fans shout abuse at players but the FA & FIFA wonder why, its this kind of thing that leads to trouble. If i was a manager i wouldnt want him anywhere near my team, if the fans kick off then fuckin fair play to them..
