    Albrighton 'No' To Rangers

Im not surprised there is interest in him, but im glad he has come out and said he wont be going to Rangers and that he is fully commited to Villa. If we sold him that would just be madness, he is a key player to Villa and he has a massive future with us if played to his full potential.

"I have a mate at Rangers but I won't be going there anytime soon," Albrighton said. "I don't want to think about leaving at the minute. I know things have not been great.

"But I am a Villa boy and I can't think of anything worse than leaving the club that's given me all my games and all my happy moments. One day I may have to leave, and that will be a sad day for me, but at the moment I am concentrating on playing well for Villa.

"I want to fight for my place here and see if I can establish myself and get back to my best here. I don't want to take the easy route. I prefer to do the hard work and the manager told me I was in his plans.''

i would love for Davis to come back home. really dont know why we sold him to begin with as i always thought he was good, just needed experience. he has that now and is a very good player. i dont buy the "he wouldnt cut it in England" crap, hes good enough.

Albrighton is too good for Scotland though, no offense to the Jocks.

Anyone who watched us beat england and watch him school lamps, becks and stevie g in the midfiled could tell you that but i doubt an englishman would see it this way.

The only thing that davis lacked in the prem was a lack of goals he was a little shot shy but that has chaned with him moving to scotland i think that he wuld be a good buy for any tema and would fit in again at villa well should they ever want to re sign him.

with Eck i could see it being very possible. couldnt see him being much more than about 5 mil either. with the pleasant surprise of Chris Herd turning out to be quite a good holding player, he could be the spark of creativity we need in midfield. a midfield trio of Petrov, Herd, and Davis would be quite good i think. hopefully Gardner will be able to step into the mix too once he's back up to speed and gets some experience. Delph too.

I think that petrov would add good experience herd the holding player and davis the man with the ball skills would work i think. From what i know of david he always very much enjoyed his time at villa.

yeah i dont know why MON sold him. i think its probably cause he thought he was too small. he said the same thing to Bannan, told him he'd never make it in the Prem due to his height and look how he's performed when hes had his chances... English football is not all about size and pace anymore, you need skill in the team too. if you're good enough, you're big enough is how i see it.

dont forget selling Cahill and signing Zat Knight to replace him, what a gem of a move that was eh?

though he did also manage to straight swap John Carew for Baros, and for that he deserves praise because we robbed Lyon blind

I thought it was Davies we signed for £10m and then jogged Cahill on, thats even worse. I thought Knight put some good shifts in for us personally, was immence v Virmingham.

Carew for Baros was the deal of the decade...

yeah you're right actually. i had forgotten about Davies, what a waste that was. i thought he was going to be brilliant too, but once his shoulder went that was that. the win at Anfield sticks out in my mind, he was absolutely brilliant that night and played like it was the last game he'd ever play.

i think that was Anfield wasnt it? might've been the 1-0 at Old Trafford. i smoke so much pot its hard to remember sometimes...i know they were wearing red

It was the Anfield game yes, we won 1-2 i think?. Davies was class until he broke his leg, he never recovered to be the same rock and lost alot of his potential IMO, hence why he fits in at the sty..

did he break his leg too? i dont remember that, i always thought that the shoulder was what did him in.

do you remember which game it was where he had to have the massive bandage wrapped around his head but he still went out and played like a man possessed? one thing i'll concede, he's got heart.
