I feel a bit sorry for him because he has been undermined quite a bit by Bates no real forays into the transfer market but bates still want the playoffs despite his seeing fit to sign most of the sides best players who in their right mind would want to take that job.

Its very silly you're right, especially the day after the window shuts. What is the point is sacking a manager a day after the window, a new face isnt gonna get a chance to dive into the market and buy who they want. Dave Jones will get the job i reckon..

Ken Bates strikes me as the sort of person who hasn't a real friend in the whole world. He might have plenty of hangers-on because he's loaded but i bet he doesn't have a single friend.
