Fuckin cunts, thank god there are lots more out there like Torrentreactor, ISOhut, Miniova etc, plus lots of forums that are locked to the public eye, they use Rapidshare etc to upload their stuff..
EDIT - Just went to the Bay and its still up...
RIP.
I love the concept that by shutting down these sites, people won't find another way. They shut down myp2p and in seconds, another site sprung up - I can't remember the name, I just google "myp2p alternative" and it comes in as the top result. I wouldn't be able to find it without google, should they be shut down as well?
I've never looked into alternatives to piratebay as they normally have whatever I want but even if most torrent sites get shut down and that avenue closes, another will open.
I remember when they closed Napster back in the day - all that did was bring music piracy into the news and instantly more poeple were pirating music than ever before through limewire, gnutella etc. I've now got a completly legal bit of software that records any sound playing through the computer so it's completly untrackable.
The internet is too massive to police and when it takes years to shut a site like Pirate Bay down who advertise what they do openly, online piracy isn't going to slow down...
The only thing legislators achieve when they try to ban something in the face of overwhelming public demand is to make matters worse.
One would think Prohibition in 1920s America would have taught them this very basic lesson, but then, who was it said "those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it"? or something like that.

Also he is a mormon
Music, I use Spotify. If I like something on there, I go out and buy it.
I buy the films I want to watch, films I'm not sure on I'll download and if I enjoy it, I buy it.
Same with TV series.
There are obviously people who use it for the complete wrong reasons and never intend to buy it, but I think sales will be exactly the same (if not worse) if they managed to "crack down" on piracy.
Fuck SOPA.
My old man said to me "be an Ars*nal fan" I said "fuck off, bollocks, you're a cunt" we took the North Bank in half a minute, we took the Shelf with the Chelsea in it, we hammered the hammers with carving knives and spanners, we taught the Millwall how to fight so I'll never be a gunner, every cunt is a runner, that's what I told my old man.
Piracy is theft .. end of really.
My two sons are very keen on Pirate Bay, and they do download a load of software, but I can't condone what they do, I just have to turn a blind eye to it.
As far as I'm concerned the sooner the authorities can shut these sites down the better, then maybe software will be cheaper for all of us to use.
Spangle i love you man but that is a very naive shout these bastards are only doing this because they want to mae 50 mill instead of 45million.
I do laugh because a big part of this is the motion picture association of america complaining that piracy means people lose their jobs but they will still pay Jonny Depp 40 million per film so its double standards.

Just a waste of money in my eyes people will laways find a way to download illegally
