John Terry: FA strips England captaincy from Chelsea defender

John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy, sources close to the defender have told BBC Sport.
The 31-year-old Chelsea centre-back was informed of the decision by Football Association chairman David Bernstein in a phone call at 1000 GMT.
He is due to stand trial in July over racial abuse allegations after an incident with QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
Terry, who lost the captaincy once previously, has entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.
Bernstein spoke to FA board members and the majority view was that Terry should be stood down.

About time to, the guy is in the shit big time and i think he will get a hefty sentance for his actions, i still cant understand how he pleaded not guilty, when there is strong evidence saying that he is guilty. I wonder if Rio will get it now?, to be honest though i dont think Rio deserves to go to Euro 2012, im not saying that because he plays for the red cunts but IMO he is finished as a player, his best days are well behind him and doesnt deserve to be on the International scene anymore, there are more better and hungry defenders out there that should get a chance these days...

As for the captains role, it should go to Gerrard IMO, a true leader and the bes one the Premiership has IMO...

I actually agree, Hart seems a great squad man whenever you see clips of the City squad together, so what if he hasn't been in goal long or been to a major tournament he can't do any worse then the captains of the last decade.
