If you had the choice about the state of football would you stay in 2007 with the state the football is in:
I feel its not going to change as people have changed it from a sport to a business and obviously they are in it to make money nowadays. But I do miss the games at Ayresome park when my dad would take me and I would stand in the terraces. Discuss... |

Well thats a hard one, the old grounds were build with character the standard grounds like Sunderlands, Southamptons, Middlesbrough's are *****. They are built on the cheap and really don't have an atmosphere or style to them.

I loved games in the 90s, was only little 9 or so but i remember the atmosphere, the only think was as a city fan our idea of a derby was Stockport County. The Kippan and walking through the terraces and alexadra park to get to maine road.
It was different but i think today theres still atmosphere at COMs there is even though theres not a lot to get excited about. I think Money has ruined what was the beautiful game. Its to strict as well now for the reasons you say, If you go to a rugby match or a GAA match, the atmospheres great the stewards hava a laugh with you, theres no police, your all sat in with opposition fans and theres no trouble. SO i think with football its just how its become. |
