    Capello named England manager

I know it was inevitable but what are your views on it? Some might argue for an English coach as it really is an insult to the standard of coaching in England.

I think his track-record speaks for itself and he will most definitely bring success to the England football team.

Finally a good move by the fa, great experience and although he doesnt play the best attacking football he wins games. He sorts out the egos too and if anyone aint playing well, he will **** them off

Who cares if the manager is foreign, he should be judged on success, just look at McClaren for example...English and couldnt even qualify

We don't want someone who aint scared to drop good players, we want someone who can get good players to play to their best of their ability!! :@

Imo he's just an Itilian version of Stev McC.. It's up to him to prove me wrong.

Strange comparison, in regard to what, his tactics or success rate?

Cap man has 9 titles to his name

    Mac man?

Hes got the credentials which SHOULD finally get us somewhere, if not then the players can take the blame. It would have been good if it was an Englishman, I think we need to some how rekindle our pride in a good manor after soppy McClaren left.

I must stress the irony of the FA signing a foreigner after the whole shenanigans over the past few months about there being too much foreign people in English football..

English, Italian or Martian who cares, support the guy, his back room staff and the team and see where it leads:

I think it's the best possible appointment they could have made with what's available. Their isn't any English manager good enough to manage the English team. McClaren was the last English Manager that has won something in the EPL and you saw how that went. The other English managers are busy in bung scandals. So i don't know what you expected. Who in your point would have been a good manager that was English?

Apparently, if you go by Fergie's word, he said that Capello does speak good English.

Its a strong appointment, he has a good streak of achievements under him along with a strong Italian dressing room staff.
Theres suspicion I feel with an all Italian staff though.

There is no doubting his calibre. 6 million a year is silly money for an international manager. Will there be the cash for the grassroots overhaul? I doubt it. Yet again the FA have gone for the stars and glitter.

Still not sure toon, be bold and make a decision. Yes you support the decision or no you don't, easy, be positive, sit on the fence and you will be shot. Indecision stands for negativity. You agree or you don't

Give it time, sell out statement.

You talk of speaking English, shearer speaks a foreign language, I cannot understand a word the guy says, are you sure he is English:

What style is that then. Have you watched his teams, or have you been reading some journalists view?
