    Hodgson For England

Well, this story seems to be gathering pace more and more everyday, i dont really give a shit about the national squad but it would make sense to hire an English manager. If offered to him i think he would take it, he is knocking on and it would be seen as the perfect last job in his career...

As a very proud fan of the English national side I am really hoping that this doesn't happen. It really wouldn't be a good move at all in my opinion.

I cant see what harm it would do, Hodgson hasnt gotta bad CV, you dont manage a club like Inter Milan if you're a mug, did wonders at Fulham, its only really Liverpool that has tarnished his reputation.

You make some good points there, but I am just not a fan of his or his style of football which seems a bit too defensive to me. My choice would be Harry Redknapp, but I realise that's far from an original thought.

Oh yeah, Redknapp would be the tactical magician that outsmart Spain, the Germans or the Dutch. His preparation would be to tell them they're triffic and to run about a bit.

Hodgson would be perfect, he has the know how and has done International football before.

Maybe Roy Hodgson would be a good appointment, but I am certainly not a fan of his. He has got a decent CV though, and didn't do too badly as manager of Switzerland I admit.

I'd rather we give the job to the manager of the Jolly Butcher pubs Sunday league team, I give it about 2 weeks before his head is either turned into a vegetable, or his head is superimposed on the head of some ugly animal.

He has Graham Taylor written all over him.

    Terry Butcher for England!! :P

Nah I'd have proper fear in me if England took Hodgson on as I think he is a top manager and could with a bit of luck take England all the way..

I would be in favour of this over Arry.

Hodgson is a good manager who I think would do ok for England.

My money is still on Redknapp.

They've only requested to talk to him now because his season is finished, nothing to play for. They'll talk to Redknapp after the last 3 games I reckon.

Good shout YID, does anyone think Pardew might get approached as well?

I wouldn't begrudge Woy a chance. He can get the best out of good players and will have us organized at least. Well, if it doesn't work out hopefully his name won't be smeared in the English media like it was with Sven, McClaren etc etc.

Harry is no better than Roy, what has he done in a managerial career spanning god knows how many clubs, plus Roy is squeaky clean, how long would it be before the press were investigating Harry's dodgy dealings, and the way he left, then re-joined Portsmouth, the tax evasion, his dog etc etc, nah he's not a suitable candidate IMO, better to have mediocre Roy than wheeling and dealing Harry.

Put it like this, who would you rather your daughter marry, a backstreet second hand car salesman, or a Rolls Royce salesman.

I was reading a story on this and its stuff like Harry has only won 1 trophy in 34 years well what the hell has roy won lately, makes no sense for me it is simple the FA want someone who wont rock the boat and harry would near dam sink it if he felt like it.

Typical FA not paying any attention to what players and fans want.
