We can recall him in January. Maybe why it’s in there
Halliday just said that he still thought Goldson would stay and I know he is very close to Goldson so there’s still hope.

    Away Days
Dundee for either club. Had some interesting visits there. One time got bored and managed to talk one of the other lads into going down to the Wellgate Shopping centre. That’s where ‘The Utility’ met up. Fun times 😂😂
Aberdeen was a trek and I hate the drive back.
Old Parkhead was a hell hole but they used to jam us in there and the atmosphere was unbelievable. New parkhead is a modern day breeze block soulless midden and the atmosphere has never been the same
Edinburgh was usually a good day out. Personally I preferred Easter Road but that was due to the hatred between the clubs
My favourite away day was Shelbourne in Europe. UEFA wouldn’t let us go to Dublin so we played at Tranmere and stayed over night in Liverpool. I walked out on my mates as they were drinking in Irish pub. Went back to Hotel alone wearing Ulster rugby shirt. Walked into hotel bar and it was packed solid with Dubliners. Well I was beyond the point of no return so got two bottles of bud thinking that’ll protect me. There was just silence to start with but one talked to me and I started ripping the piss out of him which others enjoyed and in the end I had one of my best nights out. Got to bed about 5-30am and they wouldn’t let me leave until I’d sung the sash. Surreal moment standing on a chair surrounded by Irishmen dancing as I belted out the sash😂

Playing the sheep (Aberdeen FC) was always a good away day.....Supporters bus usually got into sheep central around 11am and we headed straight to a nice wee pub down by the harbour. It was always busy on these days and only a 20 minute walk to Pittodrie. The atmosphere in the ground is pure poison and I've been there on more than a few occasions getting coins flung at us....when we complained to the police we were told to 'shut the fuck up' or we'd get lifted ffs. In these days the stadium was always packed. Stopped in a wee place called Lawrencejirk on the way home for some 'refreshments'....all in all, a good day out.

I’ve seen Bernard Manning twice and Billy Connolly. The day I saw Connolly was the day of the big walk in Glasgow.

Ive seen Alex Happy Howden .. I’m sure that’s his name. It was at the Edmiston Club and he came out and declared himself a Hibee and slaughtered Rangers .. that could have gone very wrong but he was hysterical
Also saw John Gahagan the ex Motherwell player who has won after dinner speaker award so many years in a row. Absolutely hysterical and a real one off. His voice speaker was Chick Charnley and was in the local Masonic. Charnley was pretty decent but it was the weekend before the late John Lamborghini passed away. Obviously Charnley got very emotional

Finishes 0-0 but what a great 0-0. Credit to Southampton. They were excellent and although City were piling on the pressure late on they held … just

Watching City v Soton , full house by the way, and I like to think I’m honest when it comes to decisions. Soton were awarded a penalty and Walker red carded. Was on phone to mate and said penalty but no red card as Walker does make a genuine attempt for ball. I could not believe it when the whole decision was over turned by VAR. No penalty, No red card.

An excellent piece by a contributor @FF....
There is a clear attempt by agitators to ramp up the illusory "sectarian wars" here in Scotland. Well, mostly Glasgow, to be honest. This is backed up - quelle surprise - by a biased media which loves to attack Rangers Football Club as the figurehead of all things deemed to be Protestant and therefore, by inference, offensive. This was exemplified by the recent pathetic attempt to discredit a media partner of Rangers by exposing old tweets posted by some of the podcast contributors. Yes, in a world where Afghanistan has just happened and the Covid crisis rages, a certain tabloid newspaper considers such trivia to be worth splashing on its front page. The new zeitgeist in Scotland invented by social agitators and their complicit media buddies is anti-Irish, anti-Catholic Scotland. Same as the old zeitgeist, of course. Scotland, according to these social "justice" warriors, is a dark land seething with hatred for Irish people and Catholics. There is a concerted and brazen attempt to shift the narrative from sectarianism to anti-Irish/Catholic(ism) i.e. bigotry only works one way. Only Irish people and Catholics can be the victims of prejudice in this brave new world. Protestants, Unionists and, presumably, Scottish people cannot be victims of religious or racial abuse. Of course, we are still at present allowed to question this narrative so let's do just that. When we are referred to anti-Irish prejudice we have to respond: Define Irish. By Irish are our SJWs referring to any particular part of Ireland? Does anti-Irish include people in Northern Ireland, for example? If anyone says anything derogatory about a Belfast Protestant because he/she is a Belfast Protestant will this be called out with the same rigour as someone abused for being a Dublin Catholic? Or, indeed, a Dublin Protestant? The definitions surely have to be defined. If "Irish" includes Northern Irish then can people who identify here in Scotland as being Irish from the Republic of Ireland be guilty of racism and bigotry if they denigrate people from Northern Ireland? Confused by all this Irishness? Me too, although the matter can perhaps easily be dealt with by a simple look at the law and science. It is generally accepted that people cannot be guilty of racism when they say something derogatory about their own race. Which poses a problem for those trying to impose their medieval witch hunt upon us Scots and leads us to the science bit You see, the simple truth is that there has been so much cross-migration and marrying over the centuries that the Scots and Irish are effectively the same stock. That’s the same in terms of race for those who are a bit slow. Many Scots - particularly in the Glasgow area where much of this nonsense about race and religion is spouted - have knowledge of Irish ancestry in their family tree, which makes them Irish by race. The Americans, of course, have perfected this whole business of using even the most tenuous link to Irish and Scots ancestry to aver their identity and connection to their Celtic roots. In short, if you are Scottish and can prove you are of Irish descent, can you be guilty of racism if you say something less than complimentary about people who may actually have less Irish blood in them than you? Which leaves us religion and the real bone of contention. Yes, it's the old "Are you a Billy or a Dan?" question. This is the heart of the matter. Now, it should be cut and dry. Denigrate someone's religion in an offensive manner and you can be prosecuted, right? Well, only if we are still living in 17th century England or Scotland. Only if the rules of Inquisition apply. Do we really live in a 21st century world where you cannot say something snide about religions or religious leaders on penalty of being criminalised? I am a Christian and I certainly don't want that kind of society. However, it's not so cut and dried even if we accept that such draconian measures are justified. Again, a simple plea to common sense and practice here will suffice. I am referring to the well-established concept of "jump the dykes" i.e. the vast amount of people who have married across religious divides. Can someone raised as a Catholic from a Catholic family be guilty of anti-Catholic abuse if they marry a Protestant and denounce their former faith? Are people really trying to tell us that criticism of the Catholic faith is unacceptable. To who, exactly? Of course, "Protestants" are singled out as being culpable of anti-Catholic bigotry but, just as many Catholics are no longer people of faith - what Pat Kane labelled as secular Catholics - so many Protestants culturally are now atheists. These people no longer identify as Protestants and are really non-Catholics Are you really advocating for a world where non-Catholic atheists can be prosecuted for... well, not being Catholics??? The reality is that all this social engineering in Scotland is designed to vilify and demonise Protestants and Unionists. This is why Scottish nationalists are enabling this agenda; it aligns with their independence objective. The problem is that Unionists still comprise the majority and that Catholics only make up about 16% of the population. Also, that the vast majority of Catholics are busy going about their lives and living peacefully alongside people of all faiths and none. The sad reality is that such culture wars are only engaged in by a small group of agitators whose sole purpose is to foment hate and unrest in the land. Protestants and Catholics in the real world get along. Yes, despite the bigotry and prejudice that occasionally rears its ugly head. The people of Scotland are a generally friendly, welcoming and tolerant people. Don't let people with a sinister agenda change that by sowing seeds of hate and discord. Or allowing football rivalries to define what Scotland is."

NBM was set up in tragic circumstances. A young Celtic fan was brutally murdered by Jason Campbell for no other reason but Campbells well known bigoted views.

I have no doubt that those who started it were well meaning but now they have become something they were supposed to be fighting against. Bigots masquerading as an anti bigotry organisation
