Just discovered this series which was broadcast on BBC in May.

Anyone watch it?

yeah, I watched a bit of it.....good to look back and see some of the 'older' players and it was a good insight into how self destructive Higgins was.....great player on his day but a total twat with his drinking and drug taking. Tbh I think he was a nasty little man when he was on it.

Watched it all today,
Agree wrt Higgins. Luckily White avoided a similar fate.
How many sportsmen have been ruined by booze birds and drugs?

Aye.....at least he came to his senses and sorted himself out. I must say that I don't recall White getting up to the unpleasant shennanigans that Higgins did. Having said that, I loved watching both these players during some epic matches.

Jim Baxter.

I think Baxter went downhill due to alcohol mainly after he retired mate. He bought a pub in Paisley Road West just along from Ibrox and would be seen on the punters side of the bar day and night. From what I've read he didn't have a problem as such when he was playing. It has never, to my knowledge, been alleged that he was into drugs.
