Manchester Utd target Neymar

Recommended Posts

Manchester United are prepared to pay as much as £240m to land Barcelona superstar Neymar this summer, according to reports.

Louis van Gaal has made it no secret that he is determined to strengthen his strike-force, with United captain Wayne Rooney yet to get off the mark this season and Javier Hernandez the only other experienced option in attack.

Having seen little progress in their pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, United are believed to have switched targets to Barcelona’s Neymar, and The Sun is reporting that officials at Old Trafford have approved a huge £240m to try and tempt the Catalan club to part ways with the Brazil international.

No chance of this happening!

If he ever decides to leave Barca, he can't go to Madrid. Seire A have no money and he wouldn't move to France in his prime. That's leaves England.
Woodward wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't try and gain an edge over our rivals for a future transfer.

If Neymar does have a future interest in joining United and news got to Woodward that he's about to sign a new contract, wouldn't he be justified in approaching Barca to signal intent and say to Neyamr hold on a minute.. Let's not sign that extension just yet.

If he doesn't sign this year he will have two years left on his contract at the end of this season

Barcelona forward Neymar has revealed that he did hold talks with Manchester United this summer over a potential move, but there was no "concrete" offer made.

The Barca star was linked a move to Old Trafford all summer, with reports suggesting that United would make a world-record move for the player. Neymar has confirmed that talks did take place, but not offer was made to Barcelona.

“We had conversations, but there was nothing concrete,” Neymar told ESPN.

“I heard that there were offers, but none made it to me.”

The 23-year-old, whose current Barca contract stipulates that a new deal must be agreed this season,  did add that he was happy at the La Liga giants, and wants to become the best player in the world this year by winning the Ballon d'Or.
