Saudi Severs Ties With Iran Over Execution Row

Recommended Posts

Saudi Arabia has severed ties with Iran following an international row sparked by its execution of a prominent Shia cleric.

Iran, which is predominantly Shia, had heavily criticised the Sunni-ruled kingdom, with its supreme leader saying Saudi politicians will face "divine vengeance" over the killing of Nimr al Nimr.

He was put to death in Saudi Arabia along with 46 other prisoners on Saturday.

Protesters in the Iranian capital Tehran attacked the Saudi embassy with petrol bombs and stormed the building in the wake of the executions.

Sectarian anger was also enflamed in eastern parts of Saudi, with hundreds of Shia Muslims marching through the streets, and demonstrations also spread to other countries, including Turkey, India and Pakistan.

Nuke the feckin lot, then send all those refugees/ immigrants back to rebuild their own country, rather than raping mine. I would love to be able to press those buttons, and make a fucking glass top coffee table out of the middle east.
