Eggs chips and beans is hard to beat. I saw a guy in the canteen at work having, beans&   cheese  on toast, it looked so nice and the thought of it stuck in my mind all day. Mrs SA done me some for dinner just now, it was heavenly.

I occasionally have what is called....'cheesy beanos'. Toast one side of the bread then put slices of cheddar on the other side over spoonfuls of beans and stick back under the grill till the cheese melts. Really tasty. Perhaps it's the same as what the guy had.

I had M&S Chicken Madras.

It was of restaurant quality in my opinion.

aye, she's had it before...that's the one I couldn't mind the other day when we were discussing M&S grub. Tell you what too. I love getting a selection of party food for my tea for a couple of dinners over the festive period & they have a good selection.

Believe it or not mate although I like a snifter or two most days I never ever drink alcohol when I am eating whether that be in the house or if the wife and I go out for a meal. In the house it's a tumbler of water, if we're out it's soda water & lime.

I believe it mate. My dad drinks every day.

Five pints of Worthington bitter then goes home. He never drinks with food or in the house.

Don't know what's happening. Wife's in Glasgow with her rambling group to see a panto & she'll phone me when she's coming back as we might just eat out. Depends on time and how she's feeling. If we eat out I'll have scampi but if we don't....not a clue. Mind you I had a couple of rolls filled with mince, a packet of crisps and a custard filled choux bun for brekkers at 11am.

We ate out. Scampi was decent but was nothing special. Strange because we've been there a few times and it always seemed to be tastier.

Chinese takeaway tonight, which i got in Birmingham and took home. It really was like food porn, Living where i do now, the majority of food we get is so much fresher and tastier than in the city, IE the eggs are still warm, and covered in chicken shit and feathers, the Chinese takeaways tho are feckin awful, as are the takeaways overall, exception being Indian which is my fave anyhow. Tho i think that may only be cos the proprietors of a nearby restaurant are related to the owners of one of Birmingham's finest and most established Indian restaurants.

M & S gear the night much to the wife's chagrin. Some kinda pork ribs with a sauce & potato & chicken in a BBQ sauce.

They were absolutely stonking!

Why is the food fresher and tastier where you live than in the city?

We grow a lot of our own food as do many folk in the city.

We pick it, take it indoors and eat it.

Surely one cannot get any fresher?

Simple really farm shops. Are the eggs you get from your garden still warm?

Yeah, we have our own hen house as well. I gave away two dozen eggs the other day.

I doubt the food gets harvested then through the farm shop and onto your table in less than half a day.

Ours is picked and eaten.

All homegrown.
