Breaking news

Liverpool have rejected a bid of 100 million euros (£90m) from Barcelona for Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

More to follow.

Thoughts on this move. Is he worth that much

In fairness the bar has risen due to the Neymar transfer, Coutinho would have been in the 50 million - 75 million category but now I'd say around 90 million is fair.

As crazy as that sounds.

Don't follow English football that much so not sure what he's like.

Just crazy amount of money to spend on one player. No doubt too probably not even get in the first team.

Let them spend it!

I hope the bubble burst on football and all the agents go bankrupt and the clubs fold!

I hope that he stays but I can't see it. 90 million is ridiculous but if barca want to pay it then let them :)

Coutinho's a fantastic little player, would love it if he kicked up a fuss and left Liverpool scrambling for replacements. I can understand why they wanna keep him but they do need to buy a few more people and aren't as financially capable as their rivals.

Just seen that he's submitted a transfer request. I wonder how that will pan out.

Football is a dirty game now!

FAR TOO MUCH MONEY INVOLVED.

It will ruin the game.

Once over it used to be about winning games, now its about making money!
