I have to admit that I thought the same as Locke at first and then I thought about how close cars are parked to each other these days, that the car must have exploded and set off a chain of events.

How does a fire melt steel beams and cause the buildings to collapse?

Not like cars don't contain lots of very flammable things like oil, petrol, etc. On some cars the underseal is very flammable too.

I still think it's mad that just 48hours prior, my car was in there.

I still fail to see how it totalled the place.

I understand about the vehicles but not the building infrastructure.

As soon as the intense heat starts getting to the steel reinforcing the concrete the trouble starts.
