Rudy Gestede Red card overturned

Recommended Posts

Boro striker Rudy Gestede has had his three-match suspension overturned after a successful appeal from Boro.

The forward was sent off inside the first half an hour against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday following a challenge on Canaries defender Grant Hanley.

A statement from the FA reads: "Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede has successfully appealed his sending-off against Norwich City on Saturday.

"An Independent Regulatory Commission agreed it was not serious foul play and, therefore, the player will not serve any suspension."

Gestede is now eligible for Boro's match against Reading at the Riverside this Saturday (3pm).

How the fuck this was overturned amazes me, was a clear dangerous tackle!
