All Time GB 11!

Recommended Posts

Was discussing this yesterday, and nobody could agree on it.

Your all time 11 from British players. Very difficult,

Seaman, Banks, Shilton or Southall?

Gazza, Baxter, Souness, Dalglish, Best, Gerrard, Lampard,?

Greaves, Charlton,Law,Shearer,Lineker,Rooney,Giggs, Rush,Scholes?

Hansen, Moore,Ferdinand,Cole,Campbell,Walker.  ETC, ETC.

Would be hard enough coming up with a formation, let alone an 11. Our little island has produced some greats over the years.

Have a go, it changes by the minute, each time another name pops into your head.

I would have to include Andy Goram, who in my opinion was as good as Seaman, and Schmichael, during his peak years at Ibrox. goalkeeping coach Alan Hodgkinson who coached all 3, stated he thought Goram was the best of the 3.

No Bobby Moore in defence?

not for me mate. I like a bit of steel in my defenders and I never thought Moore had that.

Smith yes....he played rightback for a spell with Liverpool. Butcher....no, I was just thinking of great defenders and felt I couldn't leave him out. Leftback was difficult to think of at the time but reconsidering I'd put Danny McGrain there and drop McKay with Gough & Butcher in central defence. Amended my team.

Yes, wtf I originally picked him and then wrote Keane.

Substitute Keane for Gazza in my line up.

I agree with all 11 which is in your mind, but what you think for Lampard? I think that he have side in elevens. Midfilder with 299 goals and he is also a one of three footbalers in Premiere league with100+ goals & 100+ assists.

I wouldn't disagree with that if someone preferred Frankie boy or even the now manager of my team Steven Gerrard. It's all about opinions mate and with myself being...ahem....a bit older than most in here I picked most from earlier eras.
