Fuck The French

As Stephen Fry said. They have this wonderful city and buildings because every time Fritz coughed they ran up the White Flag and left it to others to win them back their freedom

It's an absolute embarrassment the way people are going on about this. People need to get a grip #firstworldproblems.

and for a country that has helped to fuck at every stage in the Brexit process. UK at its best, dolling out assistance to countries that do not require it while ignoring problems at home.

Yeah why would we want to help build one of their buildings back? It has no positive effect to the UK? They didn't help the Steel Works on Teesside???

I see what you are saying but did anyone ever worship the steel works on Teeside?

Oh and I don't think we should send one round coin to Macron and his gang. Fuck em!

Again, no one worshipped at Grenfell.

It makes a huge difference when people are deciding what it where to donate.

Are we all missing the point here regards the rebuilding of Notre Dame ? Now if anybody wishes to donate their hard earned then that is their prerogative but..............the building will be covered by Insurance....let the insurer foot the bill. That is what they are paid to do.

It has taken the UK government over two years to not sort Brexit with no help from the French who out blocks in the road at every opportunity.

In spite of this it takes two hours for Mrs May to offer sympathy and whatever support is needed to rebuild Quazi's house.

Ffs. Says it all really.

There are, as you would expect, a variety of views regarding the destruction and possible rebuilding of Notre Dame.

Trying to balance that situation with the other problems besetting the world in general, and the UK in particular, is a futile exercise.

Given the tools available at the time of the construction of the cathedral, it was indeed a monumental feat, and the fact that it stood for 1,000 years is also a monumental feat.

I'm sure that if the same fate were to befall any comparable structure in the world the reactions would be very much the same.

It is of course no more important than many current issues, and it is a blessing that no lives were loss. But that does not mean it should be dismissed.

As for the insurers; they will probably play "The Act of God" card.

You think ? The cathedral is an inanimate object so tbh it would be very low on my list of problems which beset the human race and animal kingdoms.

York Minster, 1984 ? Don't recall worldwide grieving over that and it was rebuilt via public donations and the insurer.

That is simply conjecture Hairy. This incident has either been an accident or fireraising so the insurers are obliged to fork out. But knowing the frogs they'll go cap in hand for someone else to bail them out..............................AGAIN!!!

It's all about opinions mate.

I have stated mine. You disagree. No sweat.
