I don't like the big ugly engine pods under the wings.

First time I flew in a 737 I almost had a heart attack on landing.

I had a window seat behind the wing and all during the flight I could see this "cowl" on the rear of the engine pod moving.

I had no idea that the engine of 737 the did not have a reverse thrust option.

Anyway, when we landed this "cowl" thing flew open and  closed behind the engine pod to enable reverse thrust.

I just about shat myself!!!!!

On deplaning I headed straight to the bar for a liberal FG.

Anyway, I still think the DH Comet was a beautiful bird.

Seriously wtf? Ryanair use 737's, worst flying experience ever, tho other carriers use them and it's not so bad. I think the cabin must be built to spec of the airline. Iv'e flown Virgin,BA,and Emirates, amongst others, best plane i been on in my opinion is the Dreamliner. A Boeing 747 Thomson plane, now TUI,i think. That was to Mexico. A nice flying experience that,in spite of being such a long flight. Will maybe have a look for some pics and post them up.

I'm sure it was a 737 we travelled on from either Kuala Lumpar or Singapore to Perth WA & back. Mind you the last time we were there was 2002 so may have it wrong (certainly wasn't a Jumbo). Irrespective, the room was tremendous.

The 737 is not the most spacious of aircraft, and the same can be said of most of the Boeings in service today.

In terms of passenger comfort the Airbus wins easily.

The 737 always brings to mind those silly little space ships that featured in the Flash Gordon movies back in the 50s and 60s.

Was it Singapore Airlines Harold?

Well known as one of the best out there which would explain the generous leg room.

Yes it could well have been.

I think they were introduced in the mid nineties. A very nice plane.

I agree with Hairy though as in Airbus make a superior and roomier plane than Boeing.

Doubt very much a 737 has the capacity to fly that far, without refuelling. 747's fly further.
