Australia v India Test Series

I have been watching the highlights of this when I can.

Currently tied at 1-1the series has been fiery to say the least. Plenty of sledging and it would appear Steve Smith is slipping back into poor habits....It just seems to follow him around.

I thought that was in very poor taste if I am honest.

Personally I don't think the Aussies learnt much from "sandpaper gate".

There is still a win at all costs attitude.

I agree. Seems to be part of their sporting culture.

This one always made me smile:

Players involved:Ian Botham and Rod Marsh

Series:1982-83 vs England in Australia

What happened:England's heroic allrounder strolled to the crease and was asked by Australian wicket-keeper Rod Marsh, "How's your wife and my two kids?" The unwritten code in the inner cricket sanctum is that sledging does not get personal, but when it does, the victim has every right to retort. And in this instance, Botham remained unperturbed replying:

The wife's fine, the kids are retarded though," Botham said.

How do New Zealander's view sledging and the like?

In much the same light as everyone else.

Remember, the NZ cricket team was the victim of that prime example of "Australian Sportsmanship"; the infamous underarm incident.

"Australian Sportsmanship" is of course an oxymoron.

I remember it well. Win at all costs attitude.

I wonder if that has anything to do with his unsportsmanlike conduct in the recent test series that Australia lost?

It's going to hit him right in his pocket if no other IPL side takes him on.
And since they're all owned by Indians.......................................
